Factors Related to Problem Drinking and Solitary Drinking: Online Survey with One Person Household Women in Early Adulthood

Purpose The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors related problem drinking in young adult women who lived and drank alone. Methods This online survey (N=291) conducted using a questionnaire from February April 2020. Data were analyzed SPSS/WIN 25.0 program for descriptive analysis, independent t-tests, one-way ANOVA, binary logistic regression. Results In study, group identified as 72.9%. regression, significant had: (1) experience alone high socioeconomic status (OR=3.90, 95% CI: 1.04~14.58, p=.043); (2) negative alcohol expectancy (OR=1.03, 1.00~1.06, p=.028); (3) depression (OR=2.40, 1.04~5.54, p=.041); (4) 3-5 standard drinks per drink (OR=6.58, 2.06~21.06, p=.001), once or twice week (OR=4.55, 1.71~12.09, p=.002). Conclusion Our findings suggest that mental health interventions should be developed help one-person household with considering comprehensively integrating factors, residential lifestyle characteristics, context.
